Mark Brewer currently in 2nd place at Canadian Seniors

After rounds of 72-68, Mark Brewer sits 3 strokes back of American Gene Elliott at the 2019 Canadian Men's Senior Championship at Cedar Brae Golf Club. This year's event being held just down the road has participants from all over Canada and the United States competing in this prestigious event. With 8 birdies and 1 eagle after two rounds, Mark will begin his 3rd round at 10:25 am on Thursday. Good luck and keep up the great play!

A Rare Feat

It isn't everyday that you hear someone say that they had a "career round" or break 80 for the first time ever. Yesterday we had a very rare feat accomplished by the one and only Luiz de Carvalho. Luiz shot a 71 at the age of 71. Shooting one's age isn't easy when it comes down to it, and Luiz did it in style by going -1 par. Well done Luiz! And Congrats on the rare feat.

Senior Ryder Cup Champions - 2019

The Senior Ryder Cup team just completed what can only be described as a dream season with a Championship win on September 5th at Devil’s Pulpit G C. The team amassed 83 out of a possible 96 points in the regular season followed by  22 out of 24 in the playoff round and in the Championship round. The 22 points in the Championship round was not enough for an outright win so a 2 player playoff was required which Whitevale won on the first playoff hole. Players on Championship day were Mark Brewer, Barry Cattarall, Bernie Docking, Dec Dunn, Cam Hreljac, Kevin Hughes, Mike McGarragle and Dave Walker. Other team members who played during the season were Bob Doyle, Peter Lambrinos, Walt Lemon, Bob Nebel and John Trimble. This prestigious event is the senior equivalent to the George S Lyons provincial championship which Whitevale has won 5 times. There were 124 golf courses represented at the start of the season reduced to 16 teams for the Championship. This was Whitevale’s  5th season in the Ryder Cup and its’ first win. Five of this year’s Ryder Cup team members  also have  their names on the George S Lyons trophy. Congratulations to the Senior Ryder Cup team who have once again made all members proud to say they belong to Whitevale!

In Memory of Kathleen Sharp

It is with deepest sympathies that we announce the passing of Kathleen Sharp, mother of Whitevale member Brian Sharp. Visitation will take place on Monday September 16th from 12 - 1 pm at Odgen Funeral Home (4164 Sheppard Ave East, Scarborough). Memorial to take place following the visitation at 1 pm at the Glasgow Rangers Supporters Club. For further info please click on the link.
