New Member Social Recap
It was great to welcome many of our new members from the past three seasons for an evening of food, drinks and socializing. Chef Floyd put on a great selection of hors d'oeuvres and everyone enjoyed a delicious risotto station. Yvette Fulton and Ken Fedosen welcomed the new members and spoke about all the great things Whitevale has to offer. Walt Lemon then shared the history of Whitevale Golf Club. Our Assistant Head Pro - Colin Thompson, kindly donated a lesson which was won by Elijah Bryan (who is looking to improve on his already stellar handicap!). A good time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who attended!

In Memory - Peter Locke Leaney
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Locke Leaney: beloved husband of the late Anna Leaney, partner, father and grandfather. Peter passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2022 at the age of 77. He is survived by his daughter Sarah, son Derek (Valerie), grandchildren Aidan and Madelaine, sister Wendy (Keith) Gray and his partner Carroll Chilton. Peter was born in Farnham GBR on September 2, 1944 and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He was the eldest son born to Philemon (nee McSweeney) and Murray HW Leaney. Peter truly loved life and loved all those around him. He had a big personality that drew people to him and if you were lucky enough to call Peter a friend, you had a friend for life. Peter was enjoying his retirement from Teledyne Water Pik Canada as President and GM but will always be remember for his commitment to his family. Providing for his family was priority number one for Peter. Peter loved all sports, especially golf and his Maple Leafs. He loved spending his mornings at the Whitby Diner with a newspaper, his afternoons teeing off at Whitevale with his friends and his evenings at Tim Hortons with his coffee buddies. He loved watching old black and white movies on TCM but most importantly he always loved talking about his two grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by many. Please join us for a Celebration of Peter’s Life on June 17, 2022 from 2 -6p.m. at Whitevale Golf Course, 2985 Golf Club Road, Pickering, 905-294-9600.
