Women's Closing Field Day

It's hard to believe that 2018 is almost over, we hosted our women's closing field day today and it was a great wrap up on the year. We had 42 women out for our final event and Diane Packer, Terri Toms and Michelle Miles were crowned champions with a score of 64.1.

Men's Closing Field Day

Well it was our final event of the 2018 season and thank you to everyone who came out and participated. Our year end scramble is always a nice way to end the season and congratulations to our top 5 teams from today's event. Men's Night Shot-Gun and League Recap

Yesterday we held our Men's Night Shot-Gun and like the one in the spring it was a great success. Our winning team finished with a fabulous score of 124 and the team consisted of Paul Dunphy, Bill Getz and Wayne Rossall. The team was a threesome and had a ghost player drawn who ended up being Terry Calder so he did contribute to the teams victory.

We also recognized our men's league champions "Victorious Secrets" who took home this years championship captained by Darren Friesen. Congratulations to the team for their great play and support during the season.

Ontario Women’s Four Ball Championship

The final event on the women’s provincial championship calendar took place on Sept. 24 at Ladies Golf Club in Thornhill.

The Ontario Women’s Four Ball Championship is one of the more unique championships on the Golf Ontario schedule because it is open to all ages. This year it featured some very notable players including: World Golf Hall of Famer Marlene Stewart Streit, past champion Marion Reid, past Senior Women’s Champion Ivy Steinberg, part two-time Senior Champion Joey Bush and also Mary Ann Hayward, both an Ontario and Quebec Hall of Famer.

After some very cool and windy conditions and playoffs resulting in battling darkness we are proud to say that bronze was awarded to the Whitevale team of Kandice Brackenbury & Debbie Couch (net 65).

Congratulations Kandice & Debbie! We are very proud of you. 

Champions Day Wrap Up

On this past Saturday our Champions Day was held, we had the women's singles and doubles matches played and recognized our champions from the club championships. Solheim Cup 2018 - Congrats Team Fuchsia !

The Solheim Cup took place over the weekend with its 11^th year of competition! Team Fuchsia won (12 ½ pts) over Team Purple team (11 ½ points). Congratulations Ladies!

A great day was had by all. The weather was perfect, competition was fierce, celebration afterwards was raucous, food was delicious, champagne flowed and all are ready for an exciting re-match next year!

Whitevale Ryder Cup Results

Team International retains the Ryder Cup and celebrated with a steak dinner. Team Canada however, enjoyed hot dogs for their efforts. Good luck in 2019!

               

         

Congratulations Gail Pimm

Gail qualified for the USGA Senior Ladies in Florida in October. She was one of three medalists (winners) and one of two of the three to win in a playoff for the 2 qualifying spots. 

She will be heading to Vero Beach Florida for the tournament the first week of Oct.

Brewer & Hreljac represent Whitevale proudly!

For the last four days Mark Brewer & Cam Hreljac have been competing at the Canadian Men's Senior Championship at Gowan Brae Golf Club in Bathurst, New Brunswick. The tournament concluded today with Mark Brewer finishing 6th (74-77-68-74) and Cam Hreljac finishing T17 (75-73-77-77). Congratulations on a job well done gentlemen, you've represented Whitevale proudly!

Canadian Senior Golf Championship

Mark Brewer shot 68 and is now in fifth place at the Canadian Senior Golf Championship after round 3. Came Hreljac is also tied for 17th place. Way to go gentlemen!
