2021 Women's Flag Day

On Thursday July 1st, 30 women teed it up to play in the 2021 Women's Flag Day Event.

It was a very close race with seven women making it to the green on 18. Four more made it to the 19th hole. Unable to drive the green, Lisa Brewer and Cathy Dorman left their flags on the fairway. Joanne Kajganich took her final 4 strokes to 12 feet from the Hole on 19! Lisa Mackie also had 4 strokes and got her final shot to rest 2 feet from the hole on 19.

A fun event followed by smiles coming off the golf course. Thank you to all of the ladies who participated.

On Thursday July 1, 94 of our Men teed it up in the 2021 Men's Four-Ball Tournament.

We had a very competitive event with several teams threatening to take the Low Net title!

But ultimately Richard Hart and Michael Harris prevailed, shooting an incredible 61 on the strength of a 1 under par round from Hart.

Don Davis and Michael Woolgar were able to capture the Low Gross competition with a -3 69.

Thank you to all who participated in this exciting event!

 Weekday Men's Yellow Ball

Whitevale played host to the Weekday Men's Yellow Ball tournament today.  The weather was hot, but the scores were hotter with several groups firing in the low 60's!  But no one could catch John Toman, Chris Veriniotis, Tom O'Connor & Brian Murdock who blistered the course with a 57!  They were also able to hang on to their Yellow Ball and shot a 77 to take that competition as well.

For a full list of results and payouts please visit the event page on the Club website and click the open Golf Genius link.

Passing of David Clark

"It is with great sadness we announce that DAVID CLARK passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at home with his family by his side.  He was 78 years old.

David was diagnosed with cancer in January. He battled courageously throughout his treatment, but his body decided it had had enough.

David leaves behind his wife, Linda, of 52 years, children Hilary and Stewart (Nancy), and five grandchildren, Maggie, Ian, Eric, Cameron, and Gordon.  David was predeceased by his brother Ronnie (Rhona) with whom he maintained a special bond despite spending most of their lives separated by an ocean. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and extended family in Canada and Northern Ireland.

David arrived from Northern Ireland in 1965 and after some shenanigans, settled down into marriage and a career with Honeywell.  David was an avid golfer and a member of Whitevale Golf Club for over 25 years.  He enjoyed the finer things in life, always taking great pleasure in good food and any kind of drink. David was a lifelong sports fan with a special interest in Premier League Soccer.  He enjoyed home repairs, and gardening, and he took great pride in the flower boxes he created every summer.

A private family service will be held.  Donations to the Terry Fox Foundation or the Scott Mission would be greatly appreciated. Messages of condolences may be made at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/west-hill-on/david-clark-10153748"
